The Drone Chick of Africa, Kim James left the safety net of a settled career in Human Resources to wade into the uncharted waters of drone service provision in the South African security industry in 2018.

Since then, Kim’s company has grown from strength to strength, becoming one of the household names in as far as drone services in the security industry are concerned.

Recently, the company open a training wing, which goes beyond just offering trainees a pilot certificate; but also offers in-depth training in data collection, especially in the areas of aerial surveillance and unmanned aerial security operations.

Kim herself has been instrumental in the advancement of commercial drone technology in South Africa; joining hands with other women to form the Africa chapter of Women and Drones; getting many a young female drone technology hopeful into training and helping with internship placements.

On the same vein, she has also helped in the advancement of drone industry opportunities for people living with disabilities, is a member of local drone technology lobby associations; and has shared insights in the four editions of the Amazon bestselling Drone Professional books.
